영어 공부하기 31 - catch up 의 모든것!

안녕하세요. 영어 공부하기 31일 차입니다.

오늘은 catch up에 대해 알아볼게요.

 

catch up : 1. (먼저 간 사람을) 따라잡다(따라가다)

              2. (정도나 수준이 앞선 것을) 따라잡다

 

A : Would you go first? I'll catch up with you soon.

(먼저 갈래? 금방 따라갈게.)

 

B : Do you know where to go? 

(어디로 가는지 알아?)

 

I'll catch up with you later.

(나중에 따라갈게.)

 

I had to run to catch up.

(따라잡으려고 뛰어야 했어.)

 

I missed several classes. I have to work hard to catch up.

(나 수업 여러 번 빼먹었어. 따라잡으려면 열심히 해야 해.)

 

I will catch up with you in a minute.

(금방 따라갈게.)

 

You will catch up with other students soon.

(너는 다른 학생들을 곧 따라잡을 거야.)

 

After missing a term through illness he had to work hard to catch up with the others.

(아파서 한 학기를 놓친 그는 다른 학생들을 따라잡기 위해 열심히 공부를 해야 했어.)
